Take a look at this video. Donna Brazile is from Kenner, Louisiana. She's a political consultant in DC. I really like her. Her remarks are so right on. I love that this election year has made the inevitable racial issues fester up to the surface. This election is such a big deal. Most of us have come a long way. I can't wait to see where we continue to travel on this journey. Our country will undoubtedly have a different, more tolerant, view of what it means to be American. I can't help but feel hopeful that we are at an important time in history when ordinary people wake up and demand something better from there leaders. On a side note: I'm feeling a little weird with that last sentence. I've been so into this election. I'm a junkie at this point. I have no crafts or recipes to blog about because I spend way too much time reading Talking Points Memo. That last sentence - it's from Obama's stump speeches. It's just engrained in my head. Weird, but I'll use it because I can't think of a better way to say what I want to say anyway.
