Believe it or not, I intended on posting about the funky case of blahs I've had over the last couple of days. You know how it is: feeling tired, uninspired, agitated - just plain ole grumpy. But then I began recalling moment after moment of the last two days that were actually pretty darn good. The weekend wasn't half bad afterall - only my attitude.
Hightlights include:
- We haven't used the car since Thursday.
- We haven't eaten outside of the home all weekend! Last night, Byron roasted a chicken with vegetables a la Ad Hoc At Home for dinner. Simple, hardy, and good.
- Bea and I did a little seed starting: I have big dreams of a yard abundant in lavendar.
- We took two long walks around town as a family.
- Byron and I enjoyed a long evening together last night since Bea went to bed early. That's always nice.
- I woke up this morning to these words: "Mommy, the sun is up! Let's go snuggle on the couch together." Oh, alrighty.
- Delighted with waking up to a tidy living room and kitchen. And was glad I took the extra five minutes before going to bed last night to store away remotes and phones, fold blankets, and stack books and magazines neatly.
- Byron built Bea a set of arches for her playstands. They look beautiful!
- Our neighbors fed us lunch today: fresh pico de gallo, verde salsa and chips, steak and sausage. Food, that we didn't have to prepare, that is fresh, and free, is one of life's greatest pleasures, in my book.
- I've got cinnamon roll dough rising. It's going to be a good afternoon!
