Yes indeed! It's the most amazing thing!! And now last night when I went out to shut the hen house door I didn't see them! But low and behold they had ALL finally decided to take up residence at the top of the coop on their their top perch!! They now perch!! Gotta love it! Next is the eggs! Bring 'em on!

Hi Nicole,

Thank you! The pretty red and white speckled girl is a Russian Orloff.

Nichole

Oh, man, I'm quite a nerd these days...writing about the glories of chickens and such...:) But if the shoe fits, so be it!

Oh, I hope you get to enjoy chickens soon too!

Nichole

We have a perch (the christmas tree trunk...) in the run and they love it. Byron hasn't put a perch in the hen house yet. They still pile up on top of another. So sweet. Yes, I was so proud of them the first day they marched on up all by themselves.

Garden Mama

Thanks Nichole!
I thought I knew my birds but have never heard of this beautiful girl! : )

Nichole

Yes, they are a rare breed it seems.

Nichole

Thank you! I do hope you get to enjoy a flock again soon!

Oh, I feel for you. If they only realized how easy it really is to keep a backyard flock. I'm so grateful that our town is laid back in this regard.
