Did I mention that the hens came home last weekend? Our backyard feels alive again. The end of wasted food scraps is here. Hooray!
And while I'm on the topic of chickens, I should announce that we've got four little chicks all piled up on top of one another, sleeping quietly, in the laundry room right now.
Oh my goodness, the chick is so cute! My mother-in-law is getting two small Bantams this weekend! Names haven't been decided yet though. I adore your back yard, so pretty and American (to me!) I adore all things American!

Rosaleen, it's so sweet that you love America! I always assume that most Europeans think that we are overly confident and too happy for our own good! :) I must say, I dream of one day exploring the UK and other parts of Europe. Villages, castles, stone walls, the food, the landscape, the cultures. Ah... So rich.

Connecting with some wonderful people in America, has really changed the way I view 'the great west'. I'm falling in love with the atmosphere, the landscape and the people (at least the ones I feel I know a little). All from a great distance, of course. I sometimes wonder if we'll ever get to see rural America, it feels so, so far away.
Chickens in the laundry room sounds like a dream.
Wishing you a lovely new week, Nichole!

I know, I know Lilli! I feel the same about Norway! It seems so far away. Texas is huge!!! It takes 12 hours to drive across! We live in the middle of it, so we always crack jokes about how hard it seems to escape this place!! :) I'm so glad that as I've gotten older, I've become more content to be at home. I'd be a miserable mess if I yearned for lots of travel at this point in my life.

Came upon your blog today, looking for chicken coop/run ideas. Your chick is cute.
