While I'm here, happily sipping on chai in the quiet indoors, she's out there, as I'm sure she will be all morning -- until every last ice crystal melts away. Playing, shoveling, running, sliding -- experiencing to the fullest Old Man Winter's gift of ice.
She is my all-weather girl. Fully alive. Fully immersed when she is outdoors. If she has her way, she prefers the natural elements rather than walls.
Her joie de vivre inspires me to no end.
And just so you get the full experience of the last photo. Here's 55 seconds of real footage. FUN!
awesome. love her excited little face and those bright red mittens! and sugar snow? yum! believe it or not we haven't done that yet. hope ya'll are well and staying warm. we're looking forward to things thawing out a bit in the coming days so we can get back to sugaring! also- your friend Noelle contacted me and I added her to the list for the swap. yep...that's sugar snow was one of her first ideas when she woke up to a world of ice! that's my little house enthusiast!! we didn't use your maple syrup (as we are savoring it). good ole costco brand came in handy for that project. yay! noelle is great. glad the bunch of swappers is growing! now, i need to figure out just what it is i'm gonna swap...hmm..:)

oh..she has an O name....lovely. yeah, i hope that shop works out for you. if i think of any more places in my area, i send their shop names your way. (of course, there are tons of places, but i don't get out much and i also sense that you are looking for that 'just so' kind of place.)

I've only visited the store twice. Once, I chatted with the owner's mom and the second time I chatted with the owner. I believe her name is Nina. I don't "know" her, but I'm just a big fan of her sweet little shop. ;)

Oh I am so jealous of a child who will play outdoors on her own. Jack absolutely refuses. :(

I'm so sorry about that. It's a saving grace in our relationship! :) As exuberant as she is, she actually seeks out alone time at some point each day. Often outdoors. Her meditation, I suppose. :)

thank you! i stumbled upon it while i was poking around in a small patch of woods across the street from us. i think it belongs to one of the red finches that visit our feeders. :)

I can't stop looking at that feather photo either - I'd hang that one on the wall.

Thank you Rach. It was so tiny -- holding on through the howling, frigid wind -- by barely anything at all. I can't believe I actually stumbled upon it in the woods. I think it comes from a red finch which sings the prettiest little song and visits my yard daily!
